WordPress & Suhosin: Memory Limit

I’ve noticed something odd in my error logs after installing WordPress on my ISPConfig web server, although I haven’t experienced something on the site itself (everything looked and felt normal).

Mar 31 00:00:37 vmWeb1 suhosin[6775]: ALERT - script tried to increase memory_limit to 268435456 bytes which is above the allowed value (attacker 'xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx', file '/var/www/clients/client1/web7/web/wp-admin/admin.php', line 109)

After a bit of Googling (just a few seconds) I’ve found this: http://www.pablumfication.co.uk/2010/02/27/wordpress-suhosin-memory-limit/

So, all I had to do is, go to the /etc/php5/apache2/conf.d/suhosin.ini file and edit this line:

; Misc Options
[...]
suhosin.memory_limit = 256M

and restart the Apache server and the message was gone.
